French designer, born is Paris in 1902, and died in 1955, Marcel Rochas is considered one of the great couturiers of the 20th century, and to have anticipated many of the most prominent fashion trends of his era. He was dubbed the “Designer of Youth” by the 1920’s American press and made the Rochas name famous thanks to his innovative style. With his wife and muse Hélène, Marcel found his inspiration in the Parisian cultural circles. His fashion designs and perfumes were all reflections and celebrations of femininity and womanly shapes, as he was known for his romantic and passionate adoration of women, though it was Hélène he loved most. He created the iconic perfume Femme in 1945 for her as a wedding gift.
